On September 15, 2025, after finishing my trip to Tashirojima (Cat Island), I stopped by the Ishinomori Mangattan Museum.
The Ishinomori Mangattan Museum is a manga museum located in Ishinomaki City, Miyagi Prefecture, built to commemorate the famous manga artist Shotaro Ishinomori. It exhibits original manuscripts, character models, and film materials from his representative works such as "Cyborg 009" and "Kamen Rider," along with interactive multimedia experiences, a manga library, and a café, allowing visitors to immerse themselves in his creative world. Outside the museum, along the "Ishinomaki Manga Road," there are many statues and memorials of Ishinomori's works, making it a must-visit for anime and manga fans.

Going back to the evening of September 14, after finishing my trip to Matsushima, I arrived in Ishinomaki City.

As soon as I arrived at the station, I saw various elements from the works of Shotaro Ishinomori.

There were also many Kamen Rider elements along the streets.
If you have enough time, searching for these statues around the city is also a lot of fun!

Kamen Rider statue.

Also, the café inside the museum is currently having a collaboration with Junji Ito's works.
After buying the ticket, I started the tour.

Also due to the collaboration, you can draw a fortune slip inside the exhibition.
I immediately drew a "Great Misfortune in Love"! Considering the genre of this series, is there anything besides Great Misfortune?

This work is too far back for me.

I started watching Kamen Rider from "Kamen Rider Kuuga."
After watching "Kamen Rider Agito," a few years later I watched "Kamen Rider Wizard," and then I stopped.

After that, it was basically entering unknown territory!

The part where you peek through paper windows was quite interesting.

Well, this part was quite sanity-draining. I'm only showing the relatively tame parts here.
Since buying a ticket also grants access to the Junji Ito exhibition, and the exhibition halls are right next to each other, it ended up scaring quite a few kids who came to see Kamen Rider 😅.
That's all for the Ishinomori Mangattan Museum.
Overall, the Ishinomori Mangattan Museum is quite an interesting place. Even if you don't have a deep attachment to the works themselves, you can still feel the unique atmosphere by walking around. In particular, the museum is very close to the port for Tashirojima (Cat Island), so it's natural and convenient to combine the two itineraries. If you have the chance to come to Ishinomaki City, it's worth stopping by.
