August 11–13, 2025. Today I'm heading to Hitoyoshi City in Kumamoto Prefecture, Japan, for an anime pilgrimage to the world of Natsume's Book of Friends. This article will introduce the various scenic spots from the Hitoyoshi Natsume's Book of Friends pilgrimage.

August 11–13, 2025. Today I’m heading to Hitoyoshi City in Kumamoto Prefecture, Japan, for a Natsume's Book of Friends anime pilgrimage. This post will cover Hitoyoshi’s long-running collaboration event—Shadow Art—and the shops I encountered along the way that display Natsume's Book of Friends decorations.

Since getting around Hitoyoshi is a bit unique, I decided to write a separate introductory post as a prelude to the upcoming anime pilgrimage. I'll also document the transportation-related challenges I faced on this trip.

Since Takao Shokudo, mentioned in the first episode of Food for the Soul, closed on April 18, 2025, and only the interior could be visited on the 19th and 20th, I had to prioritize this pilgrimage. On April 20, 2025, under an overcast sky, I set out for an anime pilgrimage to the locations featured in the first episode of Food for the Soul—Takao and Nishi-Hachioji.

March 23, 2025, sunny. Today I went to Choshi, the sacred site of the anime ATRI -My Dear Moments-.

At noon on October 14, 2024, after finishing the morning itinerary in Shimoda City and driving for about an hour, we arrived in Nishi-Izu. In the afternoon, we planned to visit Dogashima and Koganezaki Park in Nishi-Izu.

On October 14, 2024, a sunny day, the second day of the Izu trip. This morning, we planned to visit three places in Shimoda City: Madogahama Kaiyu Park, Tsumekizaki, and Ryugu Sea Cave.

On October 13, 2024, a sunny day, I set off for a two-day Laid-Back Camp pilgrimage in Izu. This pilgrimage mainly visits the locations from the Izu trip of Nadeshiko and friends in Laid-Back Camp Season 2. The first day's itinerary includes Mount Omuro and Izu Shaboten Zoo near Izu Kogen.

On August 10, 2024, after enjoying the Unicorn Overlord collaboration café in Sangenjaya, I also visited the Persona 5 pilgrimage sites here.

On April 28, 2024, it was sunny. Today I visited the hometown of "Crayon Shin-chan" — Kasukabe. "Crayon Shin-chan" might be a childhood memory for many. So where is the actual setting of "Crayon Shin-chan"? According to information, it is located in Kasukabe, Saitama Prefecture, Japan. Taking advantage of the annual Wisteria Festival in Kasukabe, I specially visited the hometown of "Crayon Shin-chan" — Kasukabe.
