The story follows Kumiko Oumae, now in her third year of high school, and the concert band under a new system as they strive for the gold prize at the national competition. As the club president, Kumiko faces new challenges and pressures. Meanwhile, Mayu Kuroe, a transfer student from a school that regularly participates in the national competition, plays the same instrument as Kumiko—the euphonium—adding a new twist to the plot.
